2007 VT OCEAN SCIENCES upgrades the RV Prince Madog with a pCO2 system to take air and surface seawater samples and measure relative partial pressures. The vessel has also been IMCA rated to work in the North Sea near Oil rigs.

VT Ocean Sciences is a joint venture between the University of Wales at Bangor and VT Group plc, formed to provide the Research Vessel Prince Madog and associated services, satisfying current and future needs of the marine science community. The RV Prince Madog is available for charter to academia and industry 365 days a year.
